Fabric
First Layer:
First Layer:
Merino Wool: It's very important that the First Layer is the right fabric and we highly recommend Merino Wool as First Layer because it is the most tecnical. The Wool has the unique quality to keep people warm even if wet. Also when people swet the First Layer gets wet and it is very important that the layer next to your body wont get cold when it gets wet. Also the First Layer needs to move the swet away from the body and to the next layer. The Wool dries quicky and it gives you comfort and keeps you warm. The Wool is also very tempering and keeps the tempature even close to your skin and the heat from your body goes into the wool and stays there.
The Wool is a mixture of 80% Wool and 20% Polyamide (Wich is good for softness and elastic)
If cotton is chosen as a First Layer for Outdoor it can ruin your day. Cotton gets cold as soon as it gets wet and cools your skin. If Cotton is your First Layer it doesn't matter how well you dress after that. Even though your Middle Layer is thick and you have a good 3rd Layer, you will get cold if your First Layer is Cotton.
Our Merino Wool is highly long lasting, soft and smell doesn't stick to it.
We offer 2 kinds of thickness;
Our light Wool is light grey and is made of 180 gr. Merino Wool and our darker Wool is thicker and made of 220 gr. Merino Wool.
Quick Dry:
Very comfortable First Layer and fits for all kinds of sports and outdoor, but during warmer weather. Our Quick Dry Shirts are very light, soft, good breathability and dry quickly.

Washing Instructions
Down and Primaloft:
Down and primaloft
- Cintamani down jackets can be washed in a washing machine and dryed in a dryer. Washing instructions, inside the garment, should be followed. Do not wash the garment at a lower or higher temperature then that stated on the instructions.
- As with other outdoor garments, the down jacket should be machine washed as infrequently as possible to prolong the material’s life. Often it is enough to clean the garment with a damp cloth or rinse it with water.
- For optimal handling wash the garment in a washing program designed for wool or silk if possible and avoid spin draining.
- Down jackets should not be ironed.
- Fabric softeners can damage down jackets and should be avoided. It is advised to use less then a tablespoon of washing detergent, without added chemicals, or a small cap of the liquid detergent “Dúnþvottur” that we specially recommend. Please note that the washing detergent used does not include fabric softener.
- It is important to unbutton the fur collar from the jacket before it is washed, otherwise it will be damaged in the wash.
- After being washed the garment should hang for 2-3 hours and then be put in a dryer at a low temperature. It is advised to put a tennis ball or a clean sneaker into the dryer with the down jacket to ruffle the down.
- It is well noticable if a down jacket has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.
Fleece og Tecnostretch:
Fleece and technostrech:
- It is advisable to wash fleece fabric in a program for delicates if possible. Fleece should be washed at 30◦c. Never wash fleece at tempereatures over 40◦c as it can damage the material. Fabric softeners can damage fleece material in the first wash and should be avoided. It is advised to use less then a tablespoon of washing detergent, without other chemicals or a small cap of the liquid detergent “Flísþvottur” that we specially recommend. Please note that the washing detergent used does not include fabric softener.
- Do not put fleece material in the dryer as it can damage the material and do not iron it.
- Fleece and technostretch materials are technical materials so minimal washing prolonges fabric lifetime. It may not be neccesary to wash the garment in a washing machine every time. Often it is enough to clean the garment with a damp cloth or rinse it with water.
- For optimal handling wash the garment in a washing program designed for wool or silk if possible and avoid spin draining.
- It is well noticable if technopile or tecnostretch fabric has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.
Shells:
Shells:
- Shell garments should be washed as infrequently as possible to prolong material life. The reason is that there is an insulating layer inside the material that keeps water and wind out. With excessive washing the inside layer looses quality and the garment is less water and wind repellent.
- The allowed washing heat for shell material can be noted on the washing instructions inside the garment. Do not exceed the recommended washing heat to avoid damage to the material. Fabric softeners can damage technowool in the first wash and should be avoided. It is advised to use less then a tablespoon of washing detergent, without other chemicals, or a small cap of the liquid detergent “Skeljaþvottur” that we specially recommend. Please note that the washing detergent used does not include fabric softener.
- Do not put shell material in the dryer as it can be damaged and do not iron it.
- For optimal handling wash the garment in a washing program designed for wool or silk if possible and avoid spin draining.
- It is well noticable if shell material has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.
Soft shell:
Soft shell
- Soft shell should be washed as infrequently as possible to prolong material life. The reason is that there is an insulating layer inside the material that keeps water and wind out and the outside of the material is chemically treated to make the garment water repellent. With repeated washing the inside layer is damaged and the garment is less water repellent.
- It may not be neccesary to wash the garment in a washing machine every time. Often it is enough to clean the garment with a damp cloth or rinse it with water.
- The allowed washing heat for soft shell can be noted on the washing instructions inside the garment. - For optimal handling wash the garment in a washing program designed for wool or silk if possible and avoid spin draining.
- It is well noticable if soft shell material has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.
Tecnowool:
Tecnowool:
- Technowool is a special technical and insulating material that is often used as a middle layer. Technowool is a mixture of fleece and wool and needs special care.
- It is advised to wash tecnowool in a program designed for delicate material if possible. The allowed washing heat can be noted on the washing instructions inside the garment. Do not exceed the recommended washing heat to avoid damage to the material. Fabric softeners can damage technowool in the first wash and should be avoided. It is advised to use less then a tablespoon of washing detergent, without other chemicals, or a small cap of the liquid detergent “Flísþvottur” that we specially recommend. - Do not put technowool in the dryer as it can be damaged and do not iron it.
- It is well noticable if technowool has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.

Woolen underwear:
- Our woolen underwear is made out of 80% Merino wool and 20% polyamide and is natural and soft. The fabric needs special care when washed.

- Woolen underwear should not be dryed in a dryer because that may cause them to shrink. They are to be hung up to dry or layed flat.
- Woolen underwear should not be ironed.
- Merino wool is odor repellent and therefore does not need to be washed frequently.
- Our woolen underwear is durable if handled correctly.
- It is well noticable if woolen underwear has been washed at a high temperature, dryed in a dryer or washed with fabric softener. This does not count as a defect and we do not replace garments under such instances.
